The Theruni Hettithanthrige Foundation is a non-profit, non-government organization that was established in 2017 with the intent of aiding and improving the lives of the less fortunate children of our society.
This compassion project envisions to create a brighter future for the children of the rural and disadvantaged communities of Sri Lanka who are most vulnerable to the unavailability of basic education.
The main aim of this foundation is to solve the educational inequality among underprivileged children by actively supporting and facilitating them with the necessities required to continue their education and more.
A debut publication by Theruni, features a series of poems with illustrations courtesy of a beautiful team of differently-abled & under-privileged children. All proceeds were initially channelled towards the betterment of the children at Sangamitta Girls’ Home, Pamankada.

The beautiful and talented Kaushalya is a 17-year-old girl that was born without her arms and legs. Amidst financial struggles and difficulties, she continues her journey as a talented artist and a student with big dreams of a bright future.
Located in a little village in the Kataragama area, The Sri Subodha Kanitu Vidhuhala is home to a group of students that come from financially compromised places. Standing strong in the name of education, this school gets by with the bare minimum yet continues to build futures for young minds.
Tucked in the midst of the busy city of Dehiwala, Sri Sangamiththa Girls Child Development Center is home to destitute girls from the area that lack the means of education and general wellbeing. The institution works tirelessly to nurture, develop and care for the girls and reintroduce them to society, opening up many avenues of success.
